Opportunity Description
Position Title: Office Administrator
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Position Status: Part Time (20-25 hours/week)
Management of Staff Functions: none
Summary and Purpose
Assist staff and leadership at Hope through performing and overseeing Hope’s administrative work. In supporting the ongoing ministries of Hope serve as the immediate supervisor of the office and insure that administrative duties are being met in a timely fashion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Carry out the vision and goals set for Office Administration (developed in partnership with the Pastors and staff).
• Maintain a spirit of hospitality and professionalism with all who call and visit the office.
• Ensure that all necessary weekly tasks are completed (Sunday bulletins updating of website calendar, ordering of ministry materials and supplies, related support for any ministries).
• Oversee communication efforts to congregation (constant contact email, website calendar, Facebook updates, proofing of written material as needed ).
• Maintain Church calendar (weddings, baptisms, special services and special events).
• Set up maintenance appointments (HVAC, I.T.,etc.)
• Support the Church’s culture of prayer and discipleship.

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Oversee schedules and security codes for doors and alarms.
• Specific record keeping for office and ministry support, including the use of Hope’s record keeping software, such as Shelby.
• Make sure office equipment is in good running order, repair and replace as needed.
• Sort and distribute daily mail.
• Complete projects as appropriately requested by Hope staff and leadership (under the direction of the Community Pastor).

Job Skills and Requirements:
• A committed Christian and a regular participant in the life of Hope Lutheran Church.
• Acceptance of Hope’s statement of Faith as listed in its bylaws.
• 3-5 years of office administration experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Have strong organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to recruit and direct volunteers.
