AFLBS Class of 2013

My time at AFLBS was fantastic, and I wouldn’t change any part of it. I’m so thankful for the solid, Biblical instruction and training as well as the countless friendships that will last for years to come. Without being girded in Scripture, I would be vulnerable to the lies of the culture, and I’m very grateful for the true, Biblical instruction I received during my time at AFLBS.

I’ve been married to Esther (Long) since May 2014, and our first child is due in March 2016! I am currently taking classes at Thomas Edison State College, and I also work part-time as the pastoral assistant to Pastor Rick Long at Atonement Free Lutheran Church. My position here at the church has provided me with a fantastic opportunity to see firsthand how a pastor ministers to its flock. I have been blessed to work beneath a humble and God-fearing servant who is also my father-in-law, and it’s been a privilege to see Christ at work in and through this church.

I feel called to serve in a congregational setting, so in looking ahead, I plan to attend the Association Free Lutheran Seminary next fall, Lord willing. God has given me a passion to see His word rightly proclaimed, and he is steering me to full-time ministry.
