Books and Ideas

Pastor Steve Mundfrom is not intentionally in a competition to amass the largest library on campus (ahem, Dr. Moan). He just sees so many books that he likes. Especially older books in need of a home. When you see them, you buy them, right? So it is no wonder the shelves in his new office in the Student Life Center brim with Bible commentaries, textbooks on church history, and the complete collection of “Luther’s Works.” That last one has his fellow faculty members’ admiration. A few books, sure. But the complete collection? That takes time. Dedication. Persistence. Attributes our systematic theology professor has in spades. So alongside his terrarium, you’ll find books neatly stacked according to subject, encircling his desk, where you can find him most days “happy to spend time quietly with books and ideas.”
