Conquerors Usher In New Era

The FLBC Conquerors basketball season has been different this year—in so many good ways. Our men’s and women’s teams can practice and play games on campus. The new Student Life Center, SLC for short, offers a true home-court advantage. The SLC features a beautiful wood multi-sport gym floor, four locker rooms, a weight room, a full-fledged coffee shop, and best of all, bleachers with backrests. Family and friends who are unable to attend any of this season’s games in-person—highly recommended—can tune in to the FLBC home game live-streams. Thanks to new broadcast-quality cameras, the live-streams are better than ever.

In addition to hosting regular games, the SLC is the home of the NIAC (Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) tournament Feb. 18-20 this year. Hosting the NIAC tournament provides FLBC students and staff with an excellent opportunity to show Christ-like hospitality and sportsmanship, as well as network with many colleges spread throughout the Upper Midwest.

Speaking of connections, the Conquerors were not the only team to call FLBC home this year. The Blazers, a local home-school basketball league for secondary students of all ages, have been renting space in the SLC for games and practices this school year. Fun fact: The Conquerors have five former Blazers on the men’s team this year, and they would love to welcome more.

Remember to cheer on the Conquerors as they finish out their current season and travel to Missouri for the ACCA National Tournament in early March. Thank you to all the donors and fans who have made this season one to remember.
