FLBCS Introduces New Ministry Roles

PRESS RELEASE
FLBCS Introduces New Ministry Roles
Plymouth, MN
For release Wednesday, June 2, 2021

Pastor Wayne Hjermstad, currently of Elk River, MN, joined the staff of the Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary (Plymouth, MN) on June 1, serving in the newly created position of Congregational Connections Coordinator. Hjermstad will work with AFLC congregations in the Minneapolis/St. Paul district, developing opportunities for current FLBC students to engage in congregational life while on campus in their college years. The position will also include some travel to foster relationships with AFLC congregations outside of the metropolitan area.

Dr. Wade Mobley welcomes the addition. “Pastor Hjermstad is a relational force of nature. As interim pastor in our local congregation he has connected students to regular congregational life with great effectiveness. Our students are going to college, but FLBC is not a congregation. We are trying to make intentional connections between congregations and students and pray that it bears lasting results.”

The Bible College and Seminary also announces the promotion of Mrs. Sherry Mork to the role of Director of Donor Relations. Mrs. Mork will continue to work with donors, coordinating the FLBCS approach to funding its mission by building relationships with current and new donors, inviting them to participate in that mission, and thanking them for doing so.

Mork brings over 30 years of experience to the donor relations role at FLBCS. President Mobley states, “Sherry is a valuable partner, caring for donors as important to our ministry and precious to God. She is a trusted source of information and is largely responsible for much of the progress you see on our campus and in our ministry,”

FLBCS is pleased to announce the continued and expanded service of Mr. Josh Johnson as Communications Director. Johnson, a recent graduate of the Free Lutheran Seminary, will continue his work in student recruiting, communications, and staff management, but will do so in a full-time role.

Johnson will report to Dr. Wade Mobley, President of FLBCS. “Josh is a capable manager of a dedicated team devoted to student recruiting, publications, and marketing the mission of FLBCS to people inside and outside the AFLC. I’m thankful to keep him on board, and can’t wait to see many more students, including people who have never heard of us, come here to be established in God’s Word for life in Jesus Christ.”
