God Will Act – Isaac Mikkola

Trusting God can be hard. Life can be really difficult, and our circumstances in life are often far from perfect. Throughout middle school and high school, I had numerous problems with my health and found myself in the darkness without having much hope or light. But even in these trials, God reminded me that He was with me and that I could trust that He would take care of me.

I had to realize that fully trusting God required letting go of my pride and selfishness and dedicating my life to the Lord. It meant surrendering myself and allowing Jesus Christ to be the sovereign of my existence. As Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Through God’s work, He has given me joy amidst trials and instilled trust in His plans.

The truth is that I have salvation through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Because of this, I can trust in the truth of the gospel and stand firm in my identity as a child of God. This doesn’t mean that things aren’t going to be hard, but I know that Christ is my firm foundation in whom I can trust. Jesus says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Trust God!
