God Will Act – Megan Huwe

There are many instances in Scripture where God is active with His people. From the literal deliverance from oppression in Exodus to God hearing and answering prayers. While we have been given many examples of God’s active work in our lives, it can be hard to see His presence. Psalm 37:5 teaches that seeing the activity of God in our lives is done by trusting in Him and allowing Him to take control of our lives. It is an act of submission, or dying to oneself.

In my life, I have received contentment from God. Studying at FLBC means being about 900 miles from home. For someone who is an introvert and a homebody, going to a college that emphasizes community and fellowship was intimidating. I would often fear not being able to have enough alone time. But God has actively given me an overwhelming peace and contentment about being so far away from home. He has helped me to recognize moments of quiet as a true blessing and opportunity to spend time with Him. I have been reading my way through the Book of Psalms for the last couple of months, and this has helped me see how much the psalmists trusted in the Lord and how active He was in their lives through hearing and answering their prayers.

We have a God who is active in our lives, who listens to our prayers, and who actively directs our paths. This is such a blessing, and He is so worthy of our praise!
