Intercessor Prayer Update – March

“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; … Do not be afraid, you will not be put to shame. …For your Maker is your husband – the Lord Almighty is his name – the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer.”  Isaiah 54:2-5a

Israel needed incentives to move forward in hope always claiming God’s Promise. In our verses in  Isaiah God wanted to open Israel’s eyes to what He was doing and would do. They needed constant encouragement to be stretched and strengthened in their walk with God. It is always good to pause and take stock of our lives and circumstances. To expect great things from God. The Lord’s plan is far more than we can ever ask or think. We trust Him with the future where our hope lies.

The Lord’s plan for His Church, His people, is an exercise of faith which He Himself has given. Noah built the ark laboring in pure faith in God’s Word and promise. And God filled the ark with those He brought in. Our campus is built with the anticipation of God’s blessing and filling it to the brim with hungry souls preparing to serve the Lord. There is a feeling of growing momentum and anticipation on campus. You can see it and feel it. It is palpable. Yes, our alumni reach out beyond the campus enlarging God’s tent. And the students are anticipating a future of growth and fruitfulness wherever the Lord calls them. Decisions and plans are emerging. We see their perspective growing as they seek to imagine the unimaginable. Nothing can thwart or defeat God’s plan for His Kingdom and its growth. We thank the Lord for He is faithful and it is He who is doing it.

Please join us in thanksgiving and prayer for:

  • Opportunities and encouragement from February’s Spotlight: Missions Conference, the Annual Conference of Association for Biblical Higher Education in Orlando, and our hosting of the Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC) basketball tournament
  • The FLBC Basketball teams traveling to the ACCA National Tournament March 1-6 in Joplin, MO. For more information see flbc.edu/event
  • God’s blessing and travel mercies for FLBC Spring choir tours and the students joining Journey Missions’ Cross Cultural Ministry team to Mexico, April 11-18
  • High School students grades 9 and up attending Spring Campus Days, April 22-24
  • Men to respond to the Lord’s call to prepare for the pastorate at FLS
  • Prospective students to consider FLBC and sense the Lord’s guidance for 2022-23 school year as well as our current students seeking the Lord’s will for summer and fall
  • Gospel teams traveling to AFLC congregations to minister in word and song

In post-Christian America, continuing biblical education is more important than ever. Please pray that the Lord would direct you to someone who needs your nudge to check out our website at flbc.edu. Perhaps it only takes a simple word of encouragement for someone to follow through on their calling to attend FLBC.

On behalf of our Intercessor Team,

Pastor Wayne Hjermstad FLBC Congregational Connection Coordinator
