Dear Praying Friends of Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary:
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation.
Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death.
— Psalm 68:19-20 (ESV, omitting one “Selah”)
Graduation is soon upon us, believe it or not, and that makes me think about where our students will go after starting at the Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary. Every one of them will invest in families, congregations, and communities. They will do so as distinctively Christian thinkers, servants, leaders, and workers. They will go just about anywhere.
In the past several months, we have seen several great, very public examples of followers of Christ living their lives in ways a lot of people see. A couple come to mind. Former senator and college president, Ben Sasse, is actively dying of pancreatic cancer. His words in these difficult times have encouraged many, including me. And Victor Glover, one of the astronauts on the recent Artemis II moon flyby, has been very specific about his faith in Christ, too. For every one of them, there are hundreds others out of public view.
Thank you for praying for our current and future students on campus. God will use them to bring glory to Himself and souls to Christ. All of this is God’s work, so we call upon the living God to accomplish what concerns us. Thank you for praying.
Praise God for:
- an excellent year that has taken place on our campus.
- a good start to the recruiting year for next fall.…abundant financial provision.
- a handful of excellent, newer, young(er) employees embracing new challenges as opportunities.
- six recent seminary interns who have accepted congregational calls.
Please pray to God for:
- students wondering what comes next.
- prospective Bible College students making final decisions for next year.
- seminarians to become future pastors for congregations.
- God’s continued provision for the campus, including safety, effectiveness, and finances.
- healthy congregational ministry in and through the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations.
- a great weekend of graduation the first weekend of May.
- financial provision for students still in need.
- an excellent AFLC Annual Conference (and Schools Corporation) meeting in June.
- the right people to serve at the right time for the right reasons in ministries of the AFLC.
In Christ’s Love,
Dr. Wade Mobley
