Intercessor Team Update – April

That Little Lamb Was Me

I read Luke 15 today in my devotions: The lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son(s)… We’ve heard those passages preached 100 times and 100 ways, but the most important message in those parables is that we, the lost, have been found by God, being rescued by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

If you’re interested in artistic presentations of such things, Andrew Peterson’s song “You Can Always Come Home” is gorgeous. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2nNWTs7jh4

You may well remember when you “came home” on the shoulders of our Savior. Even if not, you know times when you’ve come to a fresh realization of your dependence upon God and His faithfulness in the midst of that need. At FLBCS, whether with young people in the Bible College or prospective pastors in the Seminary, we have the joy of taking people to Jesus again and again, preparing them for days ahead where they will do the same in their families, congregations, and communities, all while teaching others to do likewise.

It is a sacred call and a privilege to be a part of it. Thank you for praying:

Praise God for:

  • A great choir tour and cross-cultural missions trip over spring break
  • Abundant financial position
  • Great opportunities to teach more of our program to more students in the coming years
  • A new three-year rolling strategic plan for FLBCS
  • Several highly-qualified new employees starting on campus, either in new roles or replacing valued employees who have moved on
  • Spiritual life and health on campus
  • The nine new students beginning FLS this fall
  • Students starting or continuing FLBC studies this fall

Please pray for/about:

  • Healthy congregations and ministry in the AFLC
  • Continued financial provision for FLBCS
  • Continued financial provision for our students
  • Excellent places for future seminary interns (more in the coming years)
  • Development of the AA and BA in Bible and Theology (an extension of our current program)
  • Accepted students deciding to enroll here or someplace else (75 completed applications have yielded 63 accepted students and 40 confirmed, to join all the returning students from our current first-year class of 63)
  • A great AFLC Annual Conference in Sioux Falls

And if you want more from FLBCS, find your copy of the Lutheran Ambassador, which did a great job covering our School in the April edition. You’ll be glad you did.

President, Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary
