Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God
so that at the proper time He may exalt you,
casting all your anxieties on Him,
because He cares for you. —1 Peter 5:6-7. (ESV)
Dear praying friends,
Thank you for praying for the Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary. Monday, September 14, marked the beginning of our first full week of classes on campus, though we have had students on campus for three weeks getting people moved in, oriented, and beginning this term. I am overcome by how fast semesters fly by!
Before I get into prayer requests, let me give you some news. First, we have 47 first year students for our Bible College. The total undergraduate student body is 102 students. We have three full-time first year seminarians and some part-time classes being taken as well. That means we have around 20 full-time seminarians if you add in our interns. Overall, between last year and this year we will have 15 new pastors entering service in the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations.
We have too many new employees to mention all of them, as last year brought a lot of turn over. I want to introduce you to one in particular. Sharon McIntosh began on the 14th of September as Chief of Staff. She will provide a professional, calm, supportive voice in our office. Sherry Mork continues in her work with donors and serving as my longtime assistant in all things presidential. Sharon will help me manage the areas of external relations, including admissions, athletics, donor relations, and marketing/publications/production. She will also provide oversight of the main office in the lower level of Heritage Hall, supporting Pastor Jeremy Larson in his work as Director of Discipleship.
Praise God for:
- Every new student on campus, and those who continue their studies.
- A dedicated faculty and staff, including several new faces this year.
- Our 2025-2026 Annual Fund, which hit 113% of our $1.5M target.
- A near-weekly alumni story posted online (see them at flbc.edu/alumni)
- A beautiful campus maintained by…
- …many dedicated employees, including several students.
Please pray for:
- Students as they adapt to new settings, and for some of them, the first time away from home.
- Receptivity toward the Word of God as students learn Scripture in depth.
- Progress on our 2026-2027 Annual Fund (still a $1.5M target).
- Our fall 2027 recruiting class for Bible College and Seminary.
- A strong beginning for our “Firm Foundations; Faithful Generations” capital campaign (more to come).
- Families, congregations, and communities influenced by our students and graduates.
Thank you for praying!
Dr. Wade Mobley
