Resting in His Steady Presence – Micah Blake

Micah Blake [FLBC senior] is from Ontonagon, Mich.

A fact of life is that there is always going to be change. Events in life can seem so far off, and then one day, change comes unexpectedly. If you were told a month ago that life was going to change, you wouldn’t believe it.

I currently find myself in a time of change, where things are going to become very different. I’m moving to North Dakota, where I am planning to attend the University of North Dakota. This change marks new independence from my parents and will be introducing me to my new home for the next four years, at least.

During this process, God has been teaching me to cling more and more to the things that will never change, His presence and His Word. There are things that I don’t have figured out yet for my future, but I can find rest knowing the creator of the universe is with me, and no matter how it works out, I am His, and He is guiding me. As David said in II Samuel 22:32-33, For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? This God is my strong refuge and has made my way blameless.”
