Jeremy Nikunen is in a band. They’re pretty funky, actually. Young Funks, to be precise. At least, that’s their band name. And funk is what they played when they first formed a fews years back when their hometown of Watertown, Minn., was in need of some musical talent. Now the nine-piece band, made of up former classmates, does mostly covers at small-town festivals. Jeremy, a seminary junior who is the lead singer, loves the side gigs and the opportunity to meet up with former classmates, many of whom have decided to live for Christ and have become involved in ministry after high school. 

“It’s been cool to see how that’s changed in our lives,” says Nikunen.
