Maintenance and Grounds Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary (FLBCS) are currently seeking a Maintenance & Grounds Manager (MGM). This position will, along with the Facilities Director, oversee the maintenance and grounds needs for the FLBCS Campus and the AFLC Administration Building. This position reports to the Facilities Director. This is a twelve-month position running from January 1st through December 31st. The work week is typically Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m-4:30 p.m. or until daily work is completed. This position will at times require working evenings, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays throughout the year to assist with special events, provide snow removal and manage maintenance emergency duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Maintenance: includes work with the Facilities Director to ensure buildings, furniture, and mechanical equipment are in good operating condition, respond to maintenance-related tickets, ensuring areas of responsibility are well maintained

-Grounds: includes lawn care, tree/shrub trimming and care, irrigation system, minor landscaping, managing snow removal and staff, and other grounds needs as they arise

-Management: includes managing grounds and maintenance staff and assisting in the hiring process as well as managing the department budget

-Campus Support: includes working closely with the Custodial Manager and providing support as needed. This includes special events, equipment maintenance, and special/seasonal cleaning. Also includes supporting the Facility & Event Coordinator as needed such as event set up and tear down.

Additional duties may vary as needs arise and are assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Personal Character Qualities: agree with the mission, vision, and values of FLBCS, self-starter, ability to work independently and in a team setting, self-educator, ability to delegate and manage a staff, and oversee multiple projects at the same time

-Physical Qualifications: ability to lift over 50lbs and walk/stand for multiple hours a day

-Professional Skills: competence in basic maintenance (automotive, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electricity, etc.), have or be willing to obtain “special” boiler license in the state of Minnesota

-Not necessary but helpful: experience in HVAC, vendor and contractor relations, and budget management

Admissions and Financial Aid Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Free Lutheran Bible College is seeking an Admissions and Financial Aid Coordinator. This is a full-time salaried position that reports to the Communications Director and oversees execution of weekly and annual goals in recruiting, retention, campus visits, enrollment database health, and admissions communications. This involves working with Admissions Advisors to build relationships with leads, clarify objections, and ensure a user-friendly admissions and aid process for potential students. All efforts should aim to point students to their identity in Christ and the foundational value of God’s Word, regardless of their college decision.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Managing Admissions Team and Process: Meet with Admissions Advisors and identify how daily activity is impacting lead acquisition, visits, applications, and other enrollment goals.

-Scholarships and Aid: Organize, facilitate, and communicate the financial aid and scholarship process to students and families emphasizing the value of an FLBC education.

-Managing Enrollment Database: Ensure important information is easily accessible to both counselors, directors, and senior leadership with safeguards for confidentiality and security.

-Retention: Work with the FLBC Dean to organize retention efforts while encouraging students to pursue God’s calling wherever that may lead.

-Events: Lead the admissions team in planning and executing 3-5 on campus preview events each year.

-In-person Recruiting: This may involve travel to churches, conferences, and high schools. While most travel involves day trips, this position may be on the road 2-4 weeks during the year.

-Professional Skills/Availability: Highly detail oriented, strong interpersonal skills, willing to travel

Dorm Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Free Lutheran Bible College is seeking Dorm Assistants. The Dorm Assistant role at the Free Lutheran Bible College is a part-time position under the supervision of the Director of Discipleship that plays an important role in developing and contributing to dorm life and community. The primary area of focus is direct relationship building for the purpose of spiritual growth and character development of students on campus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

-Contribute and assist in implementing the FLBC mission and vision, specifically within the context of dorm life

-Demonstrate spiritual and character development to students by modeling personal spiritual disciplines (e.g. personal devotions, prayer, participation in a local congregation (AFLC Congregation preferred)) 

-Prioritize participation in dorm life and activities, demonstrating servant-leadership, support, and appropriate discipline

-Under the direction of the Director of Discipleship be active in the discipleship ministry of FLBC, serving as a mentor to a group of 1-3 students
 
-Under the direction of the Director of Discipleship, lead wing/floor/dorm devotions for students 
-Assist with various campus-wide events
