Preparing Servant Pastors for Free and Living Congregations
Since 1964, Free Lutheran Seminary in Plymouth, Minnesota has been training future pastors and Christian leaders. FLS prepares men who perceive God’s call to service in free and living Lutheran congregations.
FLS offers a Master of Divinity (M.Div) degree in a three-year residential format. This is followed by a one-year internship in a Free Lutheran congregation, with an experienced AFLC pastor as supervisor.
Seminary training promotes educational excellence while cultivating the highest quality of personal devotional life. The core curriculum gives graduates a foundational understanding of the Bible, theology, church history, Christian ethics, and the practical skills necessary for various facets of pastoral ministry.
The Free Lutheran Seminary stands in the tradition of orthodox Lutheran pietism. A high view of Scripture dictates an emphasis on exegetical courses.
