Greetings, friends. I heard a great sermon in class recently. One of our almost graduated seniors preached on Psalm 32:1-7. Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered… For the follower of Christ, nothing about them can be uncovered that has not already been covered by the blood of Jesus. That’s a great promise.
This is the monthly intercessor letter, the second time I have written to you in this format. Joining our intercessors this month is our Schools Corporation. They didn’t ask, but I didn’t think it would hurt. If anyone would like to get on or off of this list, please reply to this message and let us know.
Also, this isn’t a prayer request, but if you want to order some FLBCS clothing, etc. we have a new place to order items one at a time. It’s a bit more expensive but far more convenient, and there is no inventory to track. We still stock a couple of items in the Book Nook, but you can find more here: https://sideline.bsnsports.com/schools/minnesota/plymouth/free-lutheran-bible-college
Finally, before the prayer requests, know that your prayer works. Our mission points to a supernatural work and a supernatural Worker. We cannot do what we do by the arm of our own flesh. Our incoming class size this year ranked #29 out of 155 ABHE (Association for Biblical Higher Education) colleges/universities. What’s more, all our students are first time, full time, in person, and pursuing training in only one program. Our approach is staying narrowly focused on our mission, institutional objectives, and core values (attached in PDF for your viewing), all while introducing this ministry to a wide variety of souls who only recently knew we existed. It’s a miracle, and you are part of that miracle.
Now for our prayer requests, in no particular order:
- Pray for the incoming Bible College class (we’re at 52 right now and would love 65+).
- Pray for the incoming Seminary class. We have at least one with several more considering.
- Pray for both student bodies as they study, learn, and grow.
- Pray for wisdom for our seminarians as they learn concepts of servant leadership in the congregation.
- Pray for spiritual protection as our students study God’s Word– Satan hates this.
- Pray for congregations that seek a pastor, and for congregations that lack consistent lay leadership.
- Pray for the AFLC Annual Conference on campus this year.
- Pray for God’s continued provision for the work of FLBCS. He has been incredibly faithful through the years and through the generosity of people like you.
- Pray for the ACCA national basketball tournament, held on our campus this year, that we would model Christ-centered sports ministry and hospitality (people love visiting here).
- Pray for two new faculty members (Gudim and Hylden) as they begin this summer, and for their congregations in times of transition.
- Pray for Pastor Jerry and Rebecca Moan as they return to parish ministry after an amazing 29-year investment at FLBCS.
- And there is so much more.
More than anything, thank Jesus Christ for what He is working in and through our campus.
In Christ,
Pastor Wade Mobley
President, Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary
