Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary Announces Updates to the 2020 Summer Institute of Theology

The Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary has announced modifications to plans for the annual Summer Institute of Theology, which will take place on campus in Plymouth, MN, August 3-7, 2020. These modifications are designed to accommodate public health concerns and potential government restrictions.

Registrations will now be accepted through July 20, and refundable upon request. Classroom and lodging capacity are not known at this time, and will be subject to government restrictions on gathering. All registrants will be kept up to date as details become known. Further, registrants should consider their own comfort level and health needs.

Content from most classes will be made available online through live-streaming at the time the classes are offered, but there will be limited opportunity for interaction by those watching online. Those wanting to join the class this way must register in order to receive a link to the livestream. This method of delivery will be offered for a free will gift.

The theme of SIT this year is “The Care of Souls,” and featured presenters include Dr. Timothy Lane (author of Unstuck and How People Change), and the Rev. Dr. Lucas Woodford (President of the LC-MS Minnesota South District, and co-author of Church Leadership and Strategy for the Care of Souls). They will join several AFLC pastors, including Pastor Rich Carr (Tioga, ND), Pastor Terry Olson (Grafton, ND), Pastor Jerry Nelson (Onalaska, WI,  Pastor Brett Boe (and Pastor James R. Johnson (Fergus Falls, MN).

Founded in 1964 by the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (www.aflc.org), the Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary (www.FLBC.edu) includes a two-year post-secondary program (FLBC) and a four-year Masters of Divinity pastoral training program level (FLS). The Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary gained accreditation from the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS, www.tracs.org) in 2018.
