The Free Lutheran Schools Welcome New Staff Members

Four individuals have filled vacancies in the office, athletics, and maintenance departments.

Katie Strand will fill the role of Office Coordinator as well as Assistant to the AFLBS Dean. After graduating from Bible School in 2015 she attended North Central University. She graduated this past May with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Sign Language/English Interpreting and minored in Christian Studies. She is looking forward to seeing how God will impact the lives of students and use AFLBS as a place of growth and foundation.

Rachel Molstre, who started in a part-time role last fall will be joining the staff full time this upcoming school year as the Library Assistant. She has been working in libraries since she was in high school but has spent the past four years in Ohio designing online courses for Cedarville University. She is looking forward to getting to know the students better this fall.

Eli Kuphal began working on the maintenance team this last June. His wife Erin Kuphal, formerly Harris, graduated from the Bible School in 2011. Eli enjoyed working on the maintenance staff at a summer camp in Southern Minnesota for several years. He has also worked in special education at Athlos Leadership Academy in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Scott Erickson has accepted the position as Women’s Basketball coach for the upcoming season. Scott has played and coached basketball for years in his hometown of Badger, MN. He is a 1991 graduate of AFLBS and is currently in his second year at the Free Lutheran Seminary.

“The coaches I had through my school years, including AFLBS, had an impact on shaping my life. Coaching has been a way for me to not only give back, but has given me the opportunity to shape other’s lives. It is an honor and privilege to coach the women’s basketball team and I am looking forward to see growth in these young ladies’ lives.” – Scott Erickson

 

Two new faces joined the Student Life staff as Dorm Assistants this fall. They will work alongside returning DAs Emily Johnson, Caitlin Curtice, Alisha Kneeland, Cody Halverson, and Michael Onstad. Caleb Holt will also be filling a DA role in addition to his work in Admissions.

 

Haley Thramer is from Roseau, MN and a 2016 graduate of AFLBS. For the past two years, she has been working as a paraprofessional at a community school in her hometown. She is currently working as the assistant to Jim Johnson, the Director of AFLC Home Missions.

Dalton Jordahl is from Princeton, MN. He graduated from AFLBS in 2018 and is currently studying Communications at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul.
