Moments That Mattered – Marcela Lopez

Marcela Lopez, Portillo, Mexico City, AFLBS junior

During our recent visit in Ecuador, I was amazed by how God works in people’s hearts. It was exciting to share the gospel through skits, showing kids the love of God. I was amazed by how kids were impacted by the skits depicting Holy Week. I saw on their faces that they got the message.

While we were doing ministry at Paz de Dios church in Cuenca, I met a 7-year-old girl named Genesis. She made me feel honored when she opened up her heart to me right away, sharing her feelings and details about her personal life and how they affected her. I also had the chance to hear how God helped her get through all these things in her life. She mentioned that seeing all of us coming from different parts of the world sharing the gospel made a big impact on her life.

“Whoever receives one of these little children in my name receives me; and whoever receives me does not welcome me but the one who sent me” (Mark 9:37).
