PLYMOUTH, MN

Members of the School Corporation approved groundbreaking for the Student Life Center at a special meeting held in the Hauge Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 6. A ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 11:00am, the morning of graduation on campus. The 24-3 vote weighed increasing costs of construction, the cost of interest on a mortgage, and significant fundraising progress, including $3.2M in cash and promises to give over the past 18 months.

The Student Life Center will house varsity and intramural athletics, a fitness center, office space for faculty and staff, and spacious classrooms for additional students and programs. Students and visitors will gather in the commons area, making the Student Life Center a year-round center of campus activity, drawing new students who otherwise would never have visited the campus. The space will also serve to host large gatherings, such as AFLC Annual Conference.
